29 years ago, I had just met my current wife
I was almost over the previous wife
Came Sunday, I loaded up the suzukis to go to the races
The track was only 4 hours from home
Got there
Signed in
Got a hot dog
Took to unloading the bikes
Barked my shin on the tail gate
It was one of those old Chevy gates hung on chains.
Whined and sizzled
Said BooHoo and drove home.
Wife said "some big time racer, letting that stop you"
For 20 years I had wondered how it would end
35-40 races a year
The beginning of the end of the beginning of the end
